I got this E. javanica around March 23. I had ordered two males from a place I thought was reputable (but turned out not to be). I received one dead male due to awful packing, and this female, who survived. I had guessed that she was gravid since she looked so fat, and I was right. Earlier today I found several yellow things around her enclosure that appeared to be part of her ootheca. I removed them and put them on a damp paper towel. Now she has four more eggs.

I've read that once hissing roaches abort their oothecae the babies can't survive. Is there really nothing I can do to save them? Could the stress of this kill the roach? And is there anything I can/should do to help?

The babies won't survive, there's nothing you can do about it. The female will be fine, she likely dropped it from high stress or low humidity. However if you don't want to breed them she now likely won't make any more oothecas since she hasn't been in contact with a male.
