Most animals require a little time when newly purchased to settle down. Usually during this time, they won't eat. Give it a week, they try it. If it won't eat then, give it another week.

Crested geckos don't always eat a lot. If the gecko is used to eating CGD, it doesn't even need to have crickets at all (supposedly). I have heard that they sometimes will not eat crickets at all if they are very used to a liquid diet. I feed mine crickets anyway. Your gecko probably needs to settle in. I would continue to offer it food every other day. NONE of my geckos lick their bowls of CGD clean. I know that they eat it, though.

If it continues to be a problem (after a week or so) and your gecko is losing weight (weigh him on a scale, don't guess), then take him to a vet to make sure he doesn't have parasites or a deficiency (a deficiency can decrease appetite, too).

I always started my newly acquired cresteds with a small dish of baby food. It seemed to help the reluctant feeders to get going.
