Have you guys observed your spiders do this behavior?

Basically, I was feeding my Harmonicon sp. And the roach went under its web tunnel system, when the spider detected where the roach was, it started tearing through the web with its fangs to reach it. I've never seen a spider do this before, so I was wondering if you guys observed this behavior with your spiders.

Anyways, here's an unrelated video of the Harmonicon feeding https://streamable.com/dwna0d

I know this is a different species, but purseweb spiders hunt in this very way. They create a tube web and rip through to grab prey when it climbs on it.

My Psalmopoeus did this just last night. It's interesting that some will go out of their web tube and walk around when others just tear right on through...

I've seen a video posted on here recently of one of these feeding (maybe it was you?). It was awesome, as well as a little frightening.

I've seen spiders of all types do this, Araneomorphae and Mygalomorphae. Can't let your meal get away.

Wasn’t me, but I did keep Sphodros rufipes years ago, super cool spiders!

My velvet spiders all do this frequently. Stegodyphus cuts tough it's Web to have access to food.

Both of my OBTs, my fimbriatus, GBB, and Psalmopoeus species do this. They make lots of webbing, they will rebuild.
