Has anyone had any experience keeping aquatic insects

Aside from the obvious water beetles, water scorpions dragonflies etc has anyone tried mayflies dobsonflies alderflies stoneflies diving bell spiders damsleflies caddisflies or the like.i would just like to hear your experiences

Odonatid nymphs, caddisflies, and anything that breathes air (beetles, waterbugs, waterscorpions etc.) are hardy and easy to take care of. Some of those stream dwelling larvae with gills, on the other hand, require perfect water conditions or they'll die. Pond dwellling fishfly helgrammites are also hardy, I dunno about dobsonfly hellgrammites since they live in streams.

Pretty much like caterpillars with water they take grass cuttings they dont seem to mind muddy water they sift detritus but they do need something to hold like a stem also they need something to make a case well thats my experience of the one species some are quite specialised.

That's a lot easier than I thought, have you gotten them to breed?

Their pupating now actually alot if them are highly sensitive to water quality and other thing and only a few are sutible even for a pond but the ones i found need little to ne maintenance
