From what i've read, the happy face spider (Theridion grallator) comes from the hawiian islands. Has this species been exported from there and how easy/hard are they to keep? Any info on these awesome little spiders would help. thanks!

hawaii has very strict importation/exportation laws...especially when dealing with local fauna and wildlife. Chances are, I'd say no...they're not available unless you know a local willing to risk mailing them.

Wow, i didnt know i spider like that existed!!!! I wonder why i've never heard of it, it looks pretty and i'm pretty sure that if someone could actually keep them and breed them, they'd spread in the hobby really quick...

i'd imagine they wouldn't be too vicious, since they're out food-chained by a caterpillar ;P but i doubt Hawaii would even let one slide out.

too bad.

yeah, its too bad that such an awesome and fairly odd species is regulated. probably one of the only true spiders i would ever keep.
