I have A Haplopelma schmidti set up in a 5.5 gallon tank, with 6 six inches off substrate, Its a mix of potting soil, vermiculite and cypress mulch the spider has been living in this tank for about 6 months and is doing great its just shy of 2 inch body length and i have been waiting for it to molt but the tank has a large population of little red centipedes living in the substrate on one hand i am thinking maybe the centipedes are good to have in the tank to possibly control any mites ? but on the other hand will they try to munch on the spider during its molt i think they came in on the mulch any help would be much apreciated Chris..

Nothing definitive, but I wouldn't risk it..... If crickets will munch your molting T, I see no reason to believe centipedes wouldn't.

Isopods would be a far better tankmate especially if you keep the substrate moist like you should.
Actually I think i just found out what they are. I was surfing the web and found this http://www.the-piedpiper.co.uk/th11d(6).htm Scutigerella immaculata, a type of Symphylans, aparently a vegetarian garden pest...
