Well I went to check on a Hainanum sac that seemed like it was taking forever to hatch!! VOILA!! Beautiful mustard striped babies everywhere!! This sac was purchased by a friend of mine so the babies are his but the sac was 99.9% successful with only one stagnant egg. These babies survived a day and a half of temps below freezing when my power went out a couple of months back. I worked my butt off to make sure they hatched and even put all of my T's in my car with heat for several hours when that happened. Beautiful big healthy babies... and I have a sac twice as big hatching in a month or two. That one is mine.

I also discovered 1st instar babies in one of my H. Lividum enclosures. I need to get their psychotic mom out first before I separate them. But I have three different Lividum egg sacs with three different bloodlines and those will be made available once they are 2nd instar and eating well.

I'll keep you posted. I'm so thrilled. :)

Not 1000 babies... 97 babies but the sac was 99.9% successful. There was one egg that didn't hatch. These little guys are just beautiful!! Plus now I have the two Lividum sacs and I'm not looking forward to removing the mommies. The Lividum are quite high strung. Also, 97 may not seem like a lot compared to an L. Parahybana sac but they are big 2nd instars. But now I have Schmidti and VonWirthi that I can breed... would kill to get my hands on some Bach Ma with the success of these Haplo sacs.

Oh I've come to the conclusion that I won't get those for a good long while.

Also... found an L. Mayalanus egg sac this morning and the babies are hatching to eggs with legs. What a weekend!! :)

Thanks Mike... and I discovered this afternoon that the third Lividum sac has now hatched!! WOW

I also have a gravid 7" Chilobrachys Huahini female, two gravid G. Rosea's, a gravid A. Sp. New River and a gravid Black A. Seemani female.

This is just too cool! :)

The final count on the Hainanum sac is 107 live young. There was one egg that didn't hatch and I'm extremely pleased with the success rate. All are eating well and big for 2nd instars. I will try to get some pics or footage up but my camera isn't getting close up shots of the little ones.

I will count the young from all three Lividum sacs as soon as they molt to 2nd instar provided that I can get the females out without injury (to me). I'll have some footage of the babies up soon as well.

The L. Mayalanus babies are too small yet but I'll try and get those as well.

Man I LOVE this hobby. :)

I think it took a couple of month to lay and a couple of months to hatch. Best thing you can do is make sure she's warm, well fed and keep high humidity... and then leave her the heck alone! That's important.
