I have a little L3 or L4 ASF (not sure how many he had before I got him) and he won't take live prey yet, he still insists on me killing and crushing it up before he will eat it. I went to feed him his first meal since his new molt a week or so back, what I do is I usually press it against his mouth and I assume he tastes it. I usually do that and leave it front of him, and it disappears, but THIS time he literally seized it from my fingers and began devouring it in front of me!! He has never done that before, it was adorable. Anyone else experience this?

Oh and I attached a pic of his new molt. It really is amazing how much bigger they get each time. Those are not mites in the pic they're springtails. IMG_20220508_161435104.jpg

They are a sit and wait predator... will wait at the entrance of their burrow/hide with their claws out (an indication they're hungry). Sounds like your one is getting a little bit more bold!
