I just received my first scorpion today. The giant desert hairy. I have him in a 10 gallon enclosure with 6" of substrate. I'm reading conflicting opinions on temps. I have a small CHE on one side of the tank right now to provide a warmer side. It raised it to around 73F. Without the che it's around 69F.

It's fairly cold on the east coast right now. Should I remove the heating source and just keep it at room temp? I planned on shutting off the che at night time to let temps drop to mimic night time desert temps.

The scorp is also right under the che on the warm side also. Do you think he is trying to warm up? Or just hiding out there because he is in a new enclosure?
