H. Spinifer sexing

This method only works for adult H. silenus.
The title of the thread says this is a H. spinifer, but from these pictures I doubt this is actually the case. If you post some good pictures, I might be able to identify the species.

As far as sex goes, it looks female.
I posted another thread about her and was told she’s actually an H. Silenus and a female! :)

Just a food for thought identifier. But yes it's not a general indication spot. Best is to count pectine and check the operculum.
