H.Spinifer sex

I hope the pictures are good enough to determine the sex of my H.Spinifer I’m not very good at this sort of thing but I’m thinking female I could be wrong.

Unable to see. Pictures are just not clear enough. Try to get good focus on the area in between the pectines, preferably without substrate on it.
Glass containers work better than plastic for making these pictures.

Yeah that’s what I figured, I’ll try to get some better shots underneath them. I picked up a few of theses guys as Spinifers but I keep looking at several sites at identifying the type of forest scorpion making sure they are but I can’t distinguish between some of the different species. Theses are two of them. I just laid the humidity gauge for size comparison. What do you think? Are they Spinifers?

There is an easier way to tell petersii from spinifer and that is an internal tubercule on the inside of the pedipalp arm (near the elbow). If it has it, it may be a spinifer, if it's lacking this, it's a petersii. Your scorpion looks to be a petersii.
Still can't figure out what sex it is though...

Im trying to educate myself but a lot of forums and conversations lack images of comparisons I was looking at that site but unfortunately none of the pictures are available. The one article I just read mention that the telson on Spinifers are brown or red which these are, It’s hard to tell with all the dirt on them. Petersii have black telson normally, Im a rookie on this sort of stuff so I could be wrong.

Do male Petersii get this tooth on the chela on their last molt or is it sooner? Just asking because I have a few of them about 4 inches and none of them have this notch on their chela. I see a lot of other people’s petersii with an obvious tooth. Maybe I have all females.

On 5th or 6th molt if i remember correct.
They can become sexually mature before their last molt, when in that case a female becomes gravid she won't have that last molt.
