Heterometrus silenus (incorrectly fka H. petersii) offers a very easy and simple method to determine its gender. The chela of this species features sexually dimorphism. No problem they are the only Heterometrus species that can be sexed by the chela tooth btw. Examining the genital operculum and pectines is unnecessary with H. silenus.This helps a lot. Thanks for sharing.
