So my boyfriend, being the sweetheart he is, bought me a H. Paucidens for V. Day. While I appreciate the gesture, I didn't have an enclosure set up in advance (As I was unaware of his gift) LOL...

I have the scorp sitting in an extra dry vivarium I had kicking around. I couldn't find any helpful caresheets and have a question or two. Various websites suggest temps of 85-90 degrees, while others claim heat pads aren't necessary. I've successfully kept other species of scorps at room temp, but am now unsure if he'd thrive without a heat source. I wanted to put him in a large KK, with vermiculite but I don't know the best approach to heat plastic KKs (If their even is one.)

Thanks for any advise!

Howdy,
Keep on dry sand/peat. Stack some slate or rocks for the scorp. You can keep them around 80F. Get one of the smaller reptile heating pads that wont melt plastic and you're all set.
