I can't seem to find any info on Heteroscodra maculata. I am really impressed by how they look though. What are these t's like?

Yea, they are Stromatopelma-like. They sound really cool. I am definitely getting one.

lo Olan, Vyn. I've never owned a S. Calceatum, but my H maculata is pretty quick. They seem to prefer to run, but if threatened they will strike. They don't like light also. Best to view them at nite with a red light. They pretty much stay hidden during daytime. I use long hollow cork bark for thier retreat. If you lean it against the glass, they will adopt it as their home, allowing you to look in on them. I've heard some pple say theirs webs a lot, but mine doesn't really.. a little for sure though (less than any of my pokeys). Another thing I picked up from Safetypinup is they like spanish moss for a retreat. So if you toss some moss in they will also use it as a hide. They are pretty decent eaters. Moderate humidity level is fine.

Sounds like my kind of spider. Are they hard to breed?
