I received these little fellas from Codykrr this week. I fed them all a few hours after putting them in their new home and they all seemed to run away from the crix. I left them alone for a few minutes and when I checked on them again this is what I found. There's 3 slings sharing one cricket!! I was so excited to setup my first communal and I'm still excited now that I have them. I hope you enjoy!!

It is isn't it?{D I had to post this up. I'll do an update video probably tomorrow when I feed them again. They always seem to be hanging out together when I check on them. I'm absolutely giddy about these!!

sweet huh?:D

you should have seen all the slings ganging up on baby roaches to take them down, then they shared the catch. i had as many as 7 feeding on one roach. haha.

its really cool when they start hunting together.

thanks for the update.

SO cool. Sooner or later I've got to get a communal incei setup going for myself. Awesome.

I bet if you put some fluffy moss down in there they'd like it. They'll do a lot of burrowing in it and would enjoy the cover.

They definitely live up to my expectations that's for sure!! I'll probably give them a couple roach nymphs next time I feed them and try and get a video of them hunting them down. I'll keep updating them for sure.:D

where they sac mates? and did you feed enough? because i kept all 30 something together without 1 loss. i still have 9 living together right now.

along with 4 i separated for myself just make sure they get fed and i highly doubt there will be much if any cannibalization, when they mature..sometimes female will eat the males but thats natural.

Ouch!! Sorry to hear about that. I'm happy I was able to start this with 6.
If funds permitted, I would have started with 10 or 20.. but, alas, my pockets aren't so deep ;)

My pokie communals are doing extremely well so I had nothing but high hopes for the h. incei... but i guess in the end it still boils down to individual characters.

I hope your communal goes well!!!

Thanks for the well wishes!! I'm glad to hear your pokie communals are doing great. I'm thinking of trying one with the 3 P. formosas I'm getting next week on the cheapy cheap.

That's exactly what I started with! First I had 1 formosa but, a few days later, ordered 2 more and 3 rufilata.

All are doing extremely well! The formosa are growing faster than the rufs. I previously kept the formosa around 80F and the rufilata at 70F so the difference in growth rate must be due to the temperatures. Now they are both in the same room around 75F but sometimes it goes up to 80 and sometimes it drops down to 70. I'm not super critical with my temps because nature just isn't like that.

The only problem I had was one of the rufilatas had a bad molt so it lost one of its legs and its abdomen is slightly skewed at times. However, it can still hunt and move around just fine so I'm hoping for a complete recovery over its next two molts.

That's reassuring to hear. I really want to do a rufilata communal as well!!

Cool vid man. What was that one little guy up too? I think he was nervous you were watching him. ;)

I wonder if h. incei "gold" show the same communal characteristics...

The lone sling that was running around ended up sharing a cricket with another one.

I would expect that all H. incei are communal. Can't say for sure, but I'd be willing to put money on it. If I had anymore. Spent a lot on T's lately.

i would say any H. incei even the gold "form" would have the same communal traits. but from other readings, not all holothele show the communal traits incei does.

which if you read THIS thread its sounds like H. incei may be getting reclassified eventually.;)

unless i misread into Eric's post.
