so i have 4 H.Hottentottas. they are all 6th instars housed in individual delicups. Are there males and females? if yes how do i sex them? i know they are parthenogenic, but still do they need to mate? or no need? i just searched the forum for topics related to my questions but it kinda confused me more. What will i do to make them reproduce? i have no idea.

Mating :embarrassed:

Parthenogenic = babies pop out sooner or later... no sexual intercourse required.

Hi Panic,

If scorpions reproduce through means of parthenogenesis, this means that there are only females of this species and that they can reproduce without having to mate with a mail. So the offspring will be all female too etc. etc. This is an evolutionairy trait that probably developed after a period of scarcity in males, I guess.
There are both sexual as parthenogenetic populations of H.hottentotta.
