So I'm pretty horrible at guessing the size of Ts that I have. Thought that it would be important to get within a 'ball park' range when looking to sell some in the future. For example take one of my P. cancerides, how large would you say it is (next to a quarter) I'm guessing maybe around 2"-2.5"?:

The diameter of a quarter is just about an inch so I'd estimate between 1.5 and 2 inches DLS.

Why guess? Use a measuring tool, or is that just a crazy idea... Hahah

Not a crazy idea haha. I just don't want to poke at some of the Ts too much. And it's kinda hard to get them to get them fully splayed out haha.

I use this. it's a snake measuring tool, but works the same for about any difficult critter to measure.

i usually wait until i see that the one I am interested in measuring is in the proper stance and then covertly place the object (usually a pre-measured stick) somewhere withing reasonable distance of the spider in question. This is probably mot the best method for Old Worlds of course. So far it seems reasonably accurate.

Its easier with arboreals for me because they will inevitably get onto the side of the enclosure. Then I just use a small tape measure to grab their DLS then I round up a little bit because they're most often not fully extended.

I always just say they are the length of the most currwnt moult + a little. Its a ball park but you dont need to bother the T and im quite sure no one is gonna flog you for saying........
"Last moult was 3" DLS so roughly 3.5" specimen"
