Gravid Theraphosa apophysis

This is what a young adult Theraphosa apophysis looks like, for those who were lately inquiring :).

She was mated on August...I had to do some major cleaning on her cagebut I tried not to bother her more than necessary, but snapped a couple of pics.

That is awesome Fran!

How positive are you she is gravid?(not doubting you, just curious)

Also, how long ago did you pair her?

She wasnt nearly as fat when I mated her, and right after the pairings she stoped eating, since the abdomen is getting larger, she "must" be gravid...
I hope she lays soon!!!!!

Nice! I wish I could keep these spiders. But the U hairs tear me up!

Hence the reason I am trying to sell that male T. stirmi. Good luck though!

Just wondering, on average, how long do slings take to get to that size?
(Kept warm, fed well etc.)

Anywhere from 2 years up to...well, depending on the feedings and temps :)

They LOVE high temps and humidity ;)

I have a very nice female stirmi, just molted....
