Gravid C.fasciatum

Not the one that I paired, the freebie I recieved with the mature male who had been with the male before I recieved her. I noticed that she had been gaining a decent amount of weight that was not due to feeding, so I thought she may be gravid. I used the candle trick and Im seeing yellow.

From what I have read, and pictures I have seen, based on this picture I would say that she is indeed gravid. Correct me if Im wrong (Which I very well may be).

Like I said, its not as satisfying as getting to breed her myself and getting her to lay a sac, but Im perfectly happy with a sac either way, lol.

So Im not sure if the yellow is from the flashlight. Some is, some isnt.

I thought that Talkenlate posted a thread about this. I havent been able to find it. I have been searching with the words "gravid", "female" candle" candled", and "yellow" in a variety of different ways and even searched those words against threads that he posted. I could have sworn he posted something like this.

I couldnt find any other pictures when I searched the Tarantula section using those same words.

It would be great to have a picture to compare mine with, but Im having no luck finding one.

So I get a lot of pms asking me how on earth I could "know" for "sure" that one of my spiders is gravid so I tried the best I could to capture what I see in a short video. Hope this answers the question.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Mine definitly isnt glowing as much as Talkenlate's, so perhaps I just got a little too excited.

I dont think you got to excited.. Both of my avics glowed.. Well.. The one I got my sac from recently.. She glowed like yours..

Now.. My second avic is glowing like the first avic.. She has also gotten huge!

So I think you might have a gravid critter on your hands..
