I was wondering if there are any grasshoppers/locusts that are legal here in the US and easily obtained that would be edible for reptiles such as monitors?

Thanks ahead of time,
Paul

I was actually going to ask this same question tonight on here....

I would love to find some either locally or cross country to try my hand with.

It's a pity you can't get Schistocerca gregaria - those are unbeleivable fun and fascinating. All I can do is send people dead specimens!* I breed them for food, study and ornaments!

Good luck on finding a legal one, if you breed them, tell me about what you find!

*which I am packing right now actually :p

I often find the bird hoppers in my backyard. They are hard to catch. Good eyesight. They hop and, being good fliers, they try to land high in a tree so you can't get them. I have some good US hopper pics, there are some big ones here. I may try to dig up the pics later.
