Just had a large adult female g. rosea and a small adult g. pulchra molt. just for the heck of it I soaked them in rubbing alcohol to make them pliable so I could take these pictures.

the pulchra has the same "flap" or "leaf" that the rosea does, both are females. the rosea picture shows the "flap" or "leaf" better.

and the lighter colored 'buds' (spermatheca) are obvious. Great pictures! The more you observe, the better you get at sexing Ts. Some one- inch slings can be done with a 10x loop. John

I'd say they both look like females, but I'm far from experienced at sexing molts. I'm trying to improve in that area. :D

I'm certain my seemani that just molted is fem, but I'm in question as to my rosea... fairly certain it's female, but might need one more molt to mature. the "leaf" doesn't seem to be very notable but it's there.

Well, since the G. rosea's leaf is a bit more noticeable; does that mean she's ahh, how do I put it...looser? ;)

Can someone w/ an image editor point out the flap and the spermethecae for me? I'm trying to learn how to sex T's.

Here ya go. If I'm not mistaken, the flap is called the spermatheca, too. Some have the extra little bud structures, though.

it is hard to see in the picture, but the flap is in the shape of a half moon with the straight part attached to the abdomen and the curved part.............uhhhh.........well, flapping loose in the wind. once you look at a few molts it is easier to tell the difference.
BTW, the rosea is probably 6" legspan and the pulchra is probably 5.5" or so
