I'm pretty sure most people on here either keep or know something about the grammostola genus, most will also know they produce some of the larger nw terrestrial t and in my opinion some of the best looking ts. But my question as to do with a lesser known species in this genus the grammostola anthracina through no fault of its own its been pasted around under different names and at some point it was even said to be a part of the avicularia genus, I was wanting to know if anybody knows the actual dls of an adult as the information on these is sketchy at best. Alot of the other grammys get around the 8" inch mark so its got me wondering as the common name for this species is brazilian giant tawny red so im hoping its gonna be big

Pulchra and pulchripes are really the only ones I am aware of that really get that large, most are mid sized.

FYI to the OP in case you dont know, iheringi does not in any way have that large stocky body frame typically seen in other Grammo's (females that is)

Females get 8"

I was researching about the g iheringi on mikes basic tarantula's he says theres some debate as to whether this as the largest dls in the genus. Ive never seen one in the flesh they have always been on video or a pic so theres no telling whether a zoom lens as been used and its the same with the anthracina thats why I wanted info about the size. Big thanks anyway man

I referred to a website for the home country sometime back, they stated that G. anthracina (mollicoma) gets quite large, but (unbeknownst to me) that G. iheringi grows the largest of the genus in that area.
