Good way to prevent grain mites from infesting?

I kept Scolopendra subspinipes few years back and the enclosure was full with mites in no time, driving it insane cause they literally infested her. Now i'm looking to get pedes again and want this stop from even happening, i know you can put a batch of predatory mites in there, but is there any way to stop it in first place?

Allow your substrate to dry out somewhat in between misting it/wetting it down. Remove partially uneaten prey immediately, never allowing it to begin to rot. Add isopods and springtails to your enclosure, as they will eat leftover bits of prey and undigested material left in your centipede's droppings, both of which mites will feast on.

1. Cleaning up the leftovers from your centipedes meals.
2. Not over misting
3. Good ventilation
4. Cleaning excrement

and like you said predatory mites are an option. But if you do choose to add predatory mites you still have to keep THEIR population in check. Otherwise the large amounts of mites will stress your pede.
