Good snake book

Hey everyone.Could you suggest a good book on snakes in general (sort of like an encyclopedia) with lots of pics?Its for a Christmas present.Thanks in advance.:?

if you want information on snakes in general, not just keeping. I would go to a book store, go into a nature section and then just pick one out. There are MANY snake encyclopedia type books to choose from.

I agree the good ones i know of are in german so i don't think they'd be any help to you, but everytime i get the chance to go to border's bookstore i immediately start searching for new snake and engineering books and spend hours and hours browsing to all of their selection. Hahaha you can see me sitting down sucking a lollipop like a little kid checking all of them out and deciding which ones i want to take home for further reading
