Today was one month after we found our avic sacs. So we pulled both of them.
Neither wanted to give up the booty but well, I'm a little bigger than they are.
So now I have A. purpurea nymphs!

Unfortunaly it looked like the Peru Purple wrapped the sac too tight and with too many layers. I had to cut through 7 or 8 layers to find most of the eggs black and clumped togeather.
I pulled out the loose ones but they don't look good.

regardless the mothes are doing fine. Ticked off but fine.

Congrats on at least getting one good sack. Sad to see that the others don't look viable.

Thanks Jeff, Mina has promissed to let me sell "a couple" of the A. purpurea. Which is good because I counted atleast 60 from that pick and there were many beneath those.
I was really hoping for the Peru Purples too.
It really looks like she just wrapped them too tight and they didn't have room to move.
Luckily the same male was with two other females (not mine though) before he passed on. {D

Official Count is 99 A. purpurea nymphs (darkening and predicted to be ready to sell by the end of May)
4 A. sp. Peru Purple, that some how hatched. Those are staying with me.

Awesome. I'm glad to hear you at least got a couple of peru purples. 99 is a good count for purpurea too isnt it?
