Ok so im looking for affordable cages for snakes. Ive tried zoomed terrariums and the sliding screen top ones and they are all the sucks so far. Either they break or the snake can get out if all else fails i guess ill stick with a rubbermaid snap top container but i would like something i can see in heh.

Help!

hmmm...well i dont know of any high quality enclosures that are cheap but i do have an idea. take the appropriate sized rubbermaid tub, lay it on its side. buy some plexiglass, hinges, a handle, and a latch. cut one strip of plexi about 3to 4 inches tall drill some holes to bolt the hinges one with. now hot glue the strip to the bottom side and now attach the top part the same way to the hinges. attach a latch and a handle and bam your done.

Look for a clear Rubbermaid bin. I got mine at walmart for around 7 bucks. I guess they don't look at great as the more 'professional' cages, but they hold humidity well and I personally feel safer picking up my snakes from the top than coming in from the front like most of the more expensive containers.
