My Golden Mystery snail unexpectedly laid two clutches of eggs in my betta container. So I removed the eggsacks and suspended them on a plastic fruit mesh. The mesh hangs over treated water in a Kritter Keeper:

After about 15 days, the baby snails have hatched!! I threw in a few algae pellets and fish flakes to feed the little guys. These are probably about under 2mm in diameter:

It takes two to tango. I mean LITERALLY! Snails and slugs have both sex organs. They just need one other individual to make a sperm exchange.

Very easy to get eggs out of most snails. Baby snails are so cute. Watching the large water snails from Walmart in my tank always helped me get to sleep. I used to be hypnotized watching them lick the algae off the glass.

I know this is a few weeks old but thought this warranted a correction. Unlike many snails and slugs, mystery snails (Pomacea bridgesii) are either one sex or the other. http://www.applesnail.net/ is a wonderful resource for aquatic snail keepers.
