Question GIFs

So I have noticed anytime I have posted a GIF, it is promptly deleted. Reasoning for this? If it's not allowed I will refrain in the future. Just need to know, are they a yes or a no ?

I think maybe it falls under the copyrighted material thing where you can't post another persons image just link to it

Copyright could be one cause of having an image or animated GIF deleted, but multimedia embedded in a thread also needs to be on topic. Humorous animated GIFs in the discussion forums have a tendancy to cause other people to join in and completely derail a thread.
