If by defensive you mean oozing that millipede goo on you when handled I'm not really sure as I don't handle it very often at all.

Not a big fan of having orange and red hands for a week.

Hey Phil, what is the size on that? I have around 5 of them about 3 or 4" and about the diameter of a wooden pencil that were WC from the desert around where the ATS conf. was held this summer. neat color on them! someone said there are sometimes hundreds of them moving together.
