Giant Philippine Blue... Gonopods?

I've never owned this species before, so at the risk of seeming really stupid, is this white attachment the sex organ? Or is something weirder going on? I just want to make sure I'm not missing some awful fungus or something because I'm green.
Second picture isn't too clear but should help with counting legs.
It seems to be moving around well and was kind enough not to secrete anything nasty while I held it still (very gently) for pictures.

Definitely a male, this species is very sexually dimorphic. Wish they were all this easy
