Im getting my first old world tarantula today. I was wondering if anybody had any tips on unboxing and/or keeping P. Metallica’s? Thanks!

What size? A sling, a mature adult?

What will you be using for an enclosure? A deli cup or a Jamie's enclosure?

Two of the most important details you need to tell us about if you need help!

The site says 1-2 inches for the T and I attached some photos of the enclosure.
Very nice, I always use the bathtub to house/rehouse all of my T's it's the safest place to do the housing, nice size of P. metallica, use a paint brush to help coax the spider into the new enclosure, gently does it, in all honesty you shouldn't have much trouble rehousing this species, they can be super fast but try to do it as soon as it arrives, that way it's still lethargic, good luck, but I don't think you'll need it.....

I'm not a pokie expert but I prefer cross ventilation on my pokie enclosures.

I second the bathtub suggestion as well. That is where I do all of my rehousings. Just make sure to close the drain lest the spider hide in the pipe!

Ha, I've got a P. metallica shipping to me today! Here's my enclosure:

It's pretty wet in there right now, but it should dry off to a suitable level before my arrival gets here. Congrats on your acquisition!

Nice, I got one as a sleep maybe a week or so ago. It's already a good eater but hasn't done any webbing yet! Also is scared of live food, lol.
