Out of curiousity, can you post a pic of the whole enclosure and the set up? For instance, that piece of... wood/decor, from those two pics, seems quite taller for a terrestrial species. Could be wrong due to the pics angle etc, anyway.

Tbh some T's will never use their hide, especially when they get bigger; some of mine even fill theirs in, as long as its there and they have the option it'll still make them feel more comfortableand never went into the cage
