My Arizona Banded Gecko was molting and I was fortunate enough to capture her on camera. Her colors are strikingly brilliant now. Her mate is seen in background. :? Sorry for the small pics but have downsized as much as possible and still they get rejected.

so cute! banded geckos are on my "want" list.

Curious, what are the legalities in Arizona? Here in Cali I can catch up to two with a fishing license, but I cannot breed them or anything.

There seems to be a way around this maybe. What if you just so happened to catch two pregnant females, and unknown to you, they laid eggs and happened to hatch out? Maybe keep two females and stash a male at a friends house?

I think that even putting any accidental eggs in an incubator might constitute "breeding" in the state's eyes.

Believe me, I've thought about "accidentally" ending up with a male/female pair. Problem is, you can't keep more than two, and you can't sell/trade native animals.

It's about the same in Arizona. They are legal to keep but illegal to sell. (Or trade) I don't know about the breeding laws here but the first year I found my female, she was the first, she laid two eggs that weren't viable. Guess I should look up the rest of the law. Let's see, if I don't know the sex :? does that count? {D

But what if you left them in the enclosure, you didn't even know they were there, or so you say.

Cool pics. We have Western Bandeds where I am and they are all over the place. It is interesting to see how many color variations and patterns there are for this Gecko. I plan on "keeping" a few myself this season.
