freshly moulted Trap Door

I had a friend stop over and I was showing him my collectin when I noticed that my trap door had molted during the day while I was at work! Yeah!!!=D He really doesn't look that much bigger though. i took a couple of pictures, there not very good, I need a camera with a macro mode. The funny thing was I was getting worried that it wasn't eating so I had left a cricket in there, not thinking that it was getting ready to molt(duh, on my part!). I found the cricket was dead , and then when I checked in on it this morning the crcicket was gone.

Congrats on the molt from your Box O' Dirt. At least, that's what I hear it's like when caring for a Trapdoor Spider.

And yes, spiders can be arachnophobic. Put yourself in their palps. Wouldn't you be if you knew spiders were cannibalistic?

WOW!! I have never seen a pic from a trapdoor either. I went to buy what the pet store called a red trapdoor spider last night. A friend told me that the store had one but when I got there it was gone.
