You got some great shots there! Coincidentally, I found this guy sitting on my living room screen door yesterday afternoon, and was able to coax him onto my arm long enough to get one shot before a sudden movement on my part made him too skittish to stay still.

I'm fascinated at how mantids will calmly sit on my hand as long as they don't sense danger, and they will look at me, cock their heads and examine me as if to say "Now THAT'S one wierd critter!"

Thanks. I couldn't get mine to sit still long enough on my arm. He kept flying away. But, he stood on the flowerpots for a while.

Killy's looks just like mine. Did you notice a black warning dot on the front legs?

Think mine is male too. Usually females look full of eggs even before mating. Mine looks like a stick. X-D

It looks too thin to be a female, but a photo of the underside or a finger or ruler for size reference would be helpful.
