Who’s built the best burrow?

Frida, my T. vagans who has lived fossorial all her life, worked like a bulldozer to create this burrow. She is the ultimate “pet hole”. 11 years and rarely ever see her.

Post those pet holes! 😁

One of my subadult balfouri. Became bolder lately, even revealed his(?) silky smooth hole for us.

How do you get yours to burrow lmao I’ve had my vagans for 3 years and gave her an enclosure with about 10 inches ofsubstrate and set it out so if she burrows I’ll be able to see her down the side of the glass and she just refuses to which is annoying cause I made this enclosure specifically to see her make a large tunnel :(

I provided her with a tiny shovel when she was just a sling. 😉

You’re fortunate, in a way, bc you get to see your T. vagans — some like to hang out on top while others prefer to hide. Mine is very shy, so it’s a treat when I do see her.
What kind of substrate are you using?

Its a coco fibre moss mix it seems to be stable enough as I’ve tried it myself and it holds still pretty nicely but the problem is shes just not interested in it I made a small starter bit and I’ve never seen her go near it. She’s a bit weird tbh unlike my other T’s she’s not scared of light when I do maintenance in the enclosure she couldn’t care less and her feeding response is wild and I’ve never had her refuse food so molting is always a surprise. I’m honestly thinking of changing her enclosure to a more “display t enclosure” then getting another fossorial but I’m not sure what.

Recently molted H. gigas. I can always get her to come out with a little bit of web jiggling (and she is always rewarded with a superworm) F2450CAE-07A6-4A91-B0DB-3529E7BFB68A.jpeg
