just wondering how can i keep my crickets alive longer?? i have them in a butter bowl with a little bit of bread and water...should i mabee just freeze them??thanx for all the help!

The cooler the butter bowl is kept the longer you will have them.

Having food and some paper towel rolls helps. I use the water crystals and regular gutload type feed. Cleaning out the dead ones will help too, dead crickets release a toxin. (that nasty smell)

I usually buy around 2-3 dozen at a time. I have 13 mouths to feed. I just keep them in the original bag the pet store puts them in. I add a couple of empty cardboard toilet rolls so they have something to hide and crawl on. Usually add a few pieces of good quality dog food and a slice of carrot for mositure. This keeps a high percentage alive for 3-5 days. Usually they are gone by then anyway because everybody likes to eat you know.
