How on Earth do I get the males to flutter?!?! When I pick them up by a wing I get about one or two in one hundred that actually flutter. I have chameleons and they absolutely love when the roaches flap their wings, but I cannot get them to do it regularly! Anyone have an tricks or tips (or are dubia just super lame and I will need to use a diffferent species?) My B. fusca males flutter a lot, but they are too big for the majority of my lizards. :(

Have you tried tossing the roaches up in the air slightly? That usually got mine to flutter a bit, not sure how well that would work out for feeding though...

What Kevin said. If you throw them in the air they will flutter glide down to the ground. I don't really think there is a way to make them flutter other than that. They don't even do it when they get munched by predators.

Maybe if you give them something tall to climb they will get up to the top and make the leap on their own.
