I have a great local reptile store near me that has tons of tarantula related products and only captive bred Ts. I was shocked to find a gooty there. Only the second day and it's already taken a meal. It has a crazy feed response.

Fellow fish tank keeper, I have utmost faith in you.

Just don't handle it and you'll be fine. Pokies are lightning quick and have some pretty potent venom. Do not be the newbie that got bit doing somethig silly like holding it for fun.

Appreciate it, I have done a ton of reading. Any suggestions are appreciated though. I plan to feed gut loaded crickets and mealworms

Yeah I've kept reef tanks and dart frogs. Handling small pets is not my thing.

Treat this thing like a mantis shrimp; just as fast and just as able to hurt you, but able to move on land.

Never had one of those but I deal with lots of venomous things where I work. I've even ingested paly toxins before

Not just on land, but can move in three dimensions faster than your eye can perceive, and also can jump. Also has toxins unlike a mantis shrimp.

Got it and enclosure for 175. It's so cool to watch it hunt. I think I'm addicted

That's a steal. I don't think I would've been able to resist that impulse. The universe keeps trying to sell me half inch metallica's for $100-150.

Yeah that's kinda what happened. I knew I wanted one but wasn't planning on it so soon

The teleporting is unreal. Tapping the enclose before opening seems to help settle it.
