Finally!!!

After my horrible luck with trapdoor spiders, I finally have one!!! It's ~1" to 1.5". Some type of Myrmekiaphila species and I currently have it in a vial with coco fiber until I got to the store today to get it a good sterilite container. What prompted me to hunt was the fact that my nephew found two MM on my front porch this morning. So I grabbed my shovel and looked around my yard, found a hole, and dug and dug. Ten minutes passed by and I had lost its burrow digging, but when I looked down I saw a little ball with legs and immediately picked it up. It was still alive, kicking, and in good condition. There it was, my new Trapdoor spider in all its glory Finally!! I have my own.

I would try using some soil from the area where you collected it. Seems like it might be a much easier transition for the spider, and would made it much more likely to construct a burrow.
