At 24 T's of which many species are hot, I have finally gotten the threat posture I've been longing for. I told the guy at the LPS that if he could get a T to give me a threat posture I would buy it. So now, I have another little OBT. Since the OBT sling I have is anything but scary and evil.

I decided to demonstrate to one of my BF's buddies and lo and behold, I finally got the bugger to give me a threat pose! It was very amusing, and resulted in me jumping around and squealing.

I <3 eebil T's {D

The best I got was a teeny sling kicking at me. Although that OBT is pretty small. Not even at the 2" mark x3

That would be pretty funny. The funniest thing about my rosies display is if you don't back off she will slap and then run away. I about died laughing after she did that. Needless to say I am not scared of her at all.

Lol. I used to love threat postures too till I finally concede to their warning. My lividum almost bit me last time. And surprisingly my first threat pose was from my 2" G Aureostriata.

Haha, rosies can be evil sometimes.

wats kewl about pissing off a t, dont get it?
Im sure no one sets out to "piss off their T" I was just moving mine to a new enclosure when it did the deed.

Just sit back and enjoy the poses.. dont be so serious.

I got my share of threat display from my P.metallica. She(i hope) did it when i breathed on her... not to mention that the deli cup was closed when i did that... and I have recieved many more threat poses, from doing things like taking out bolus, putting in a water-dish, talking to myself, and adding water to the enclosure... Sure is a pretty threat pose though, you know what they say, roses have thorns :D

Has it even occured to you that even opening a OBT's enclosure may result in a threat pose?

Why would I jack my own thread?

And uh, next time you want to insult someone.. make sure they will be able to understand it.

If I read her post correctly she waited for a t to show her a threat. I think even the most docile T can be harrassed into protecting itself, but she did not do that- she waited for it to occur. It sounds like she was interacitng in some way, showing it off- but she could have gotten a threat pose within just a few minutes, long ago if she wanted to scare her tarantulas...well, that's my 2 cents.

I don't try to illecit threat poses, but they do happen sometimes when you least expect it. I am intimidated already by adult Ts (just because they have those huge fangs), plus I figure if it threatens me- it's not happy either. In order to rear up it must feel it is in danger. I don't want that, I want happy tarantulas.

I did have an itty-bitty chaco threaten me during a move or cleaning, the thing was smaller than my thumb and threatened me!!!{D I admitt I found that to be more endearing than scary.
