What is a good film SLR for more professional type photography? Also, what is a good brand and type of film to use? I want to pick up a film SLR (something within my price range) to play around with and learn the 'other' side of photography. Any tips on a decently priced, yet really good one would be appreciated...

Cheers,
Nate

If you like the older style manual type cameras, the canon F1 are really nice and durable, they say the f1 is rated to be able to take 100,000 pictures. Its a pro camera from the 70's. The nikon F5 is also a good pro level camera, its more modern too. I had a Canon Elan 7e that I liked, they are entry level pro camra. The Elans are kind of cool because they have a laser that reads your retna, so whatever your eye looks at the camera will focus on.

The best SLR I have ever owned was a Topcon Super D with a
Topcor 58MM f1.4 lens. The lens is more important than the camera
body here. These are a 1960's camera but WoW! What Photos I took
with it.
