This is kind of an odd question but I think it's worth asking. I'm into field herping, but I also obviously have an interest in pedes. I live in Southern Illinois and according to literature Hemiscolopendra marginata occur in the region. Does anyone have experience in finding this species while out in the great outdoors? Any specifics on where and when to look would be helpful. I've found specimens of what I believe are Scolopocryptops sexspinosus that were...I guess between 4 and 6cm in length, but I haven't seen H. marginata.

I find them in forested areas, usually under and in old rotting logs. And in limestone rocky outcrop areas, under rocks and logs but still in shady treed areas.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully I'll have some luck next spring.
