Hello,

I am trying to find some information on Field Crickets. I have looked over most forums I know and nobody has any information on the legality of the species. Is it even legal to keep them in captivity in Florida? Are there breeders in Florida that sell them?

My understanding is that they are illegal to ship or take over state lines, but stock produced here in the states is fine. I am unsure how accurate this information is, but it did come from someone affiliated with Florida Fish and Wildlife.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They're common around Central Florida, hiding under rocks and logs in open areas. I believe their requirements are quite similiar to the regular pet-store crickets, as far as care, feeding, and breeding goes. They're are probably twice as cannibilistic, though, having not been domesticated. One thing I do know though, from experience, is that they bite often, and hard.
