We have over half a dozen jumping spiders.

Wondering if any one has experience using feliway plug inside for cats safely in the same room as their jumpers?

What exactly is a feliway plug ?
It is a calming pheromone you plug into a wall outlet for cats.

Supposed to just be a pheromone liquid. Gets heated up by the power provided to help it atomize into the air better.

Works pretty good for our cats. Wasn't sure if the atomized vapor could injure inverts.

I've used it before and it didn't do anything for either my cats or my tarantulas.

As long as it’s not any type of pesticide, you’re safe. Pretty sure this product. is not one.

I would worry about the other ingredients

I tried those once on a cat that was surrendered to the vet for euthanasia because it was peeing everywhere. It peed on it.

Do they work? I can't say they do, but the premise... Meant to smell like another cat has entered the arena of an already pathological cat...hmm...

I found the MSDS here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...kQFnoECCYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2EYzO8ahDYPNy5-1F5jbeX
Seems pretty innocuous to me, but I'm no expert.
As far as efficacy with cats, some seem to respond really well to it and others not so much. Definitely worth a try for stress-related issues, but don't expect a miracle either.
Good to hear and thanks for finding an MSDS on it. We have experience with its affects on cats. Just wanted to be sure it would not cause respiratory distress for our jumpers.

Why do you need pheromones for your cats? They don’t like the nip?

This product seems like snake oil at best, and actually harmful at the worst. I am reading that all the studies on it were financed by the same company that makes it...

Unfortunately that's gonna be the case with the vast majority of pharmaceutical type products in the US, both human medicine and veterinary. Because they're paying for the science so they can profit off it. This one is pretty harmless overall and does seem to help some cats with anxiety. I don't see how it could be considered harmful. Worst case scenario a cat that hates other cats would scent mark to cover it up, I guess.

That’s pretty sketchy, I’ve never even heard of this product before.

That is industry standard. The tests are standardized but everyone uses their own format. Can be fantastically irritating searching through series of MSDSs for where they mention what salient. In that particular one they didn't bother to include the NFPA chemical hazard emblem.
@HooahArmy and I have posted rants about this. There are at least a half dozen government agencies involved in policing the hazards which of course don't cooperate or work with each other. From DOT through FTC, OSHA, NFPA, EPA and so on.
(And of course the government agency principally involved with an MSDS has leeway in interpreting and applying compliance. See Boeing and the NTSB and FAA cushy deals)
