FAO: All cricket haters

This little bugger was hopping around my room 10 minutes ago. Now it's in the jaws of my favourite T, my P. fasciata being crunched

Is it just me or is it really satisfying to chuck an escaped cricket in with your T and watch it do it's stuff? Just look at those fangs And to think I've held this beautiful beast and let her climb all over me (when she was a damn sight smaller I might add). Erk!

Thats a awesome pic I seem too accidently let a few crickets ecscape every time I get them and they chirp all the time telling me ha ha you cant catch me lol.

Hah yeah I know the feeling, sometimes I'll be a primate and decapitate it with whatever is in hands reach, like a spoon or something, then feed the head and other severed parts to the tiny spiders. Sounds a lot more twisted than it actually is! ;P

If you hate the noise, why not remove their back 'musical legs'

Because that would accomplish nothing, the noise is made with the modified wings on the males.

Indeed it is, how stupid of me :8o bI don't know why I said the legs actually, but still the females can't hear the chirps if they have no 'hearing legs' (I recall reading they 'hear' through their legs, though it may be wrong. It may surprise you all but crickets don't intrigue me vastly )

My P. imperator family consumes about dozen of them daily.
Before I've had the PetPal with cracked wall and small hole in the top cover - many crickets were choose the freedom making my cat very happy.
