It’s my first post on these forums, so I’m sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I couldn’t neatly fit all of this into a single specific category, so I decided to put it into as general of a category as possible.
As I state in the title, I’m mostly just looking for people’s experiences with the Macrothele gigas—mostly temperament and care (i.e., humidity, enclosure suggestions, personal experiences during feeding and rehousing, etc.). I’d also like to know if there’s any truth to the notion that female funnel webs’ venom is milder than males’.
It’s also probably quite obvious based on my inquiry that I’m considering getting one, though not any time soon. I live in the U.S. What could I expect to pay for this species? (I’d like an adult female, but a sling would also be fine.) Are there any reputable breeders in the U.S. who sell them?
