I like taking pictures of my tarantulas on different backgrounds, but my last attempt ended in an outdoor escape that was carelessness on my part. If anyone has any tips or suggestions on a clear, escape-proof enclosure that lets natural light in and allows me to take a good range of photo angles, please let me know. :)

Plexi-glass is less reflective than real glass.
Did you get the escapee back?

I have a largish piece of heavy-ish plexiglass that i just put on top of the t's enclosure in place of their normal lid. That leaves me free to snap away with no worries of escape. Also, since they're in their own home they are comfortable and give more natural poses.

no, it was on the back porch and it ran between the wooden boards. It wasn't that expensive though, a mexican red rump spiderling. So it either froze/starved to death (It happened a couple months ago at the start of winter), or found it's way into the basement were it is feasting on camel crickets.

Open space photo shoots.... They never run that far.

I never liked shooting through glass/plexi/etc.

There are some pix of peoples photography set-ups on here somewhere.
