I was wondering if anyone has ever used the clear storage bins you find at stores like Walmart and do they work good? I know the size needs to be 3 times the length of the leg span and I was only planning on terrestrial species at this moment. I do wanna get an arboreal but not yet.

if you mean those plastic sterilite bins or tupper ware type boxes yes all the time you just need a cordless drill to put in a bunch of vent holes

Awesome I was thinking they would work but this would be my first tarantula and i am on a budget so I wanted to make sure first. Now when I put vent holes in do I do it towards the top. On the top. Or all levels of the bin?

first you want to make sure the drill bit to be used is smaller than the carapace of your t otherwise it will escape. usually i drill a line a lil above the dirt line then drill out a whole bunch on the lid. then a sheet of 80 grade sand paper or razor blade to smooth out the sharp bits that get left behind from the bit. good luck
