image.jpeg Was adding a hide to the deli cup i have him in, and with the hide he was able to climb out, I got him in my hand to put him back and was able to take this picture. My question is, are the pedipalps supposed to be that thin for a young emperor? Or did i stumble upon an asian red claw?

'red claw' = Pandinus cavimanus or P. viatoris which are also from Africa

Generally its hard to tell them apart from P.imperator until they moult a few times!

Thanks for giving the scientific names, didn't know they were so similar when they are younger.

Yeah, at that age it's impossible to even determine the genus. It'll become more clear what it is as it matures.

I should also add that the common name of "red claw" can apply to all three Pandinoides species.
